EuskoTren workers in Bilbao call for the removal of bullfighting advertisements on the tram
At this morning's rally in Arriaga Square, Euskotren workers demanded that the company advertise in a manner consistent with public values and respectful of animal welfare.
The workers of Euskotren have concentrated in Bilbao to denounce the placement of bullfighting advertisements in the tram. In the act of protest, the works council has expressed its "concern and rejection"and stressed that this type of advertising is incompatible with the values of a public company. Thus, they have called for the avoidance of these campaigns in the future and have claimed a responsible company with society and respect for animal welfare.
The Commission has formally requested"that such publicity be omitted, that any advertising commitment to date be reviewed and that a criterionbe established to prevent future campaigns promoting tauromaquia or any other activity involving animal abuse ".
With this mobilisation, the workers of Euskotren wanted to express their disagreement with the use of the image of the public company "to promote this type of spectacle. The workers want a public company consistent with their values, responsible to society and respectful of animal welfare. "
