EUR 497 million will be earmarked for the renovation of the airports of Loiu, Foronda, Hondarribia and Noain
The objectives are to increase the volume of airports, enhance efficiency and security, and improve the quality of service.

The Spanish Government will invest EUR 497.7 million in the four airports of Hego Euskal Herria over the next five years. The Council of Ministers today approved the airport renewal plan managed by Aena, to which it will allocate a total of EUR 13 billion.
Among the Basque airfields, the one in Bilbao will receive the most money: EUR 364 million, which will be used, among other things, to expand the terminal, strengthen safety or improve the efficiency of flight tracks.
For its part, Donostia-San Sebastián Airportwill have an investment of EUR 41.8 million, including the improvement of the network of operations, communications system and quality, as well as the renovation of infrastructure in the vicinity of the airport.
For similar work, EUR 63 million will be allocated to Vitoria Airport. There, too, processes and quality will be improved, and safety will be strengthened.
In the same vein, Pamplona Airport will receive 28.7 million over the next five years. One of the goals is to expand the track.
The Government delegate in the Basque Country, Marisol Garmendia, has highlighted the "strategic commitment to Basque airports", which will increase by five the amount allocated to Bilbao from the previous investment and by four the amount allocated to Vitoria-Gasteiz.
