San Sebastian City Council to build a new solar plant to supply 11 municipal buildings in Martutene
The Arantzazu Ama facility will produce more than 90,000 kWh per year and expand the self-consumption of public equipment, according to Donostia City Council Environmental and Urban Maintenance and Services Councilor Iñigo García.
The City of San Sebastián will build a new solar plant in the Martutene district that will supply a total of 11 municipal buildings, so that the Arantzazuko Ama plant will produce more than 90,000 kWh per year and expand the self-consumption of public equipment, according to Donostia City Council Councilor for Environment and Maintenance.
According to Garcia in a statement, the City Council "continues to make progress, boostingthe\u00A0 renewable energies and shared self-consumption .
"The new facility, awarded for €89,691.74, will supply 11 municipal buildings," said Garcia.
"The new facility on the deck of the school's sports courts will have a nominal power of 100 kW and will consist of 200 500 WP solar panels, "he added.
"With this, we have projected annual production of 90,090 kWh, which will be distributed among the existing municipal equipment in the 2,000-metre area," he said.
These eleven buildings include schools, cultural facilities and associations of the elderly . For example, the Ernest Lluch Cultural Center in the Amara district will be one of the main recipients of the energy generated there (38% of the energy).
On the other hand, Garcia has advanced that theCity Council is working on a project for a larger photovoltaic facility at the Mons Sports Centre . "It is currently under study and plans to install about 1,560 solar panels," he said.
