One more year, the Pamplona City Council has set up an information point on the "Free Pamplona Campaign ", which will open from 5 to 14 July.
It is a point of information, awareness and prevention against sexual assault and a reference point for active listening and reporting.
It is not a victim support service, but it will provide information on available resources and will be able to implement support services and protocols in the event of an attack.
TheMayor of Pamplona, Joseba Asiron , the Councillor for Equality, Neighbourhood, Citizen Participation and Euskera, ZaloaBasabe , and the Councillor for Social Action, Txema Mauleon , participated this morning in the symbolic opening of the information space, which will be held from Saturday, July 5, from 11:30 to 15:00.
This information point on Castle Square is a place to help girls and women who need the help of a specialized service that provides them with information on where to go, addresses, schedules and support.
If necessary and at the request of the woman, the protocol of care and assistance would be activated.
To those who have witnessed a sexual assault
Those who have witnessed a sexual assault or request information shall be informed of existing resources.
Through an anonymous questionnaire, incidents relating to non-reprehensible or non-reported sexist aggression or conduct will be recorded and analysed.
Campaign material such as guides, pins, stickers or posters will also be distributed in the Plaza del Castillo area, and information on the campaign and the resources available will also be available in online format.
Double hours and shifts
Social Action professionals will double face-to-face care hours from two to four hours a day, and even on weekends, due to the large influx of people into the city, shifts will be doubled to provide adequate care for all potential victims.
Similarly, in order to facilitate professional work and care for victims, for the first time a central area will be set up as a reference point, and housing will be made available to victims, as it was last year, if women are identified who, because they visit or have no family in the city, need temporary shelter for themselves and their families.
Finally, the salaries of the professionals who are going to do this work have been increased, on the one hand because it is important work and, on the other hand, because it must be done on holidays.
