A man has been arrested for attempting to choke and knife a woman in Bilbao
During the discussion, the man tried to strangle the woman and knocked her unconscious, then took a knife to stab her, but a roommate prevented him.
The Ertzaintza has arrested in Bilbao a 43-year-old man accused of attempted homicide after attempting to strangle and knife his 39-year-old wife in a home in Indautxu.
According to the Basque Government's Department of Security, the attack took place around 01:30 this morning.
The Ertzaintza was alerted by a citizen who was listening to a strong argument. Apparently, the man tried to strangle the woman while they were arguing and knocked her unconscious, then took the kitchen knives and tried to stab the victim, but a roommate prevented him.
The attacker has been arrested and taken to the police station, while the woman is hospitalized.
