A mountaineer from Pamplona died at the top of Russell, in the Aragonese Pyrenees
A 26-year-old from Pamplona died on Monday after falling on the ridge of the Russell summit in Posets-Maladeta National Park in the municipality of Benasque (Huesca).
According to the Civil Guard, the warning was received at 12:45 p.m. via the 112 SOS Aragón telephone. The young man was advancing on steep terrain. Immediately, the Civil Guard rescue team and the Benasque Air Unit mobilized with a doctor from 061.
After flying over the area, rescue teams found the body and found injuries incompatible with life and evacuated it by crane and took it by helicopter to Benasque.
