A forest fire in La Rioja has reached Álava
The fire has originated in the Riojana town of Gimileo, but has entered Álava by a chopstick, so the Guardia firefighters have moved to the site to assist in the extinction work.

The Fire Department of the Basque Government has been working since this afternoon to extinguish a forest fire that originated in La Rioja and has reached Álava, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
Around 7.15 p.m. a forest fire was reported in Gimileo (La Rioja), which broke into the territory of Álava by a chopera, and the Fire Department of the Guard was mobilized to assist in the extinction work.
As a result of the fire, train service between the Riojana towns of Haro and Briones has been interrupted.
