Five young men have been imprisoned for violently robbing a person in San Sebastian last weekend, according to municipal sources.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 7:30 in the Egia Pass, in the vicinity of the bus station in the capital of Guipuzcoana, when five people attacked another to steal.
They beat him and kicked him all over the body. They alerted the local police, who went to the scene. They arrested three men who had been involved in the crime.
Despite the beating, City Council sources have stated that the victim was "very lucky"and that after being treated for his injuries, he was discharged that morning.
The Municipal Police initiated an investigation to locate the other two persons allegedly involved, and hours later they managed to arrest a fourth man.
The fifth detainee was found on Tuesday after the Ertzaintza arrested a man for theft and was brought before the court, when they realized that the description matched the one they were looking for, so they arrested him.
The four detainees were taken to court, and the Municipal Police took the images of the attack to court. After viewing the footage, the judge found the facts to be "serious enough to be considered a robbery with violence and injury", so he issued a warrant for imprisonment for the five who entered Martutene.
