Robberies

They pretended to be robbed in order to get the box at the bar where one of them worked.

The arrest was carried out last night by the Ertzaintza after the cable cutting alarm sounded in the vicinity of Euskotren station. The robbers fled but were intercepted in the vicinity.

The stolen products were valued at more than 102,000 euros, and the gang committed at least five robberies in Bizkaia alone, in Bilbao, Barakaldo and Santurtzi, as well as other robberies committed in Álava.

The officers tried to stop the man with a taser gun, and seeing that they didn't get it, they shot him in the leg.

The police operation began following a warning from a witness who witnessed the robbery, as well as recording with his mobile phone the moment the thieves fled, graphic material that was essential for the investigation.

The event took place last night in the municipality of Gipuzkoa, when a citizen saw two men robbing a vehicle wash area and when the officers left, one of them jumped into the water, while the other, a 31-year-old male, was arrested.

The investigation has revealed fifteen robberies committed in October and November in Busturialdea and Mungialdea.

In the last two months, the glass has been broken and stolen in 43 cars at different points in the village. The Ertzaintza has already arrested two people and is investigating another.

These are two of the five arrested last Thursday in connection with the theft of jewellery. The prosecution has requested pre-trial detention for the alleged accomplice.
