The manwho shot dead a 48-year-old man in Barakaldo last Thursday is still being held at the police station awaiting trial, as confirmed by the Basque Government's Department of Security.
The shooting victim died that very night, hours later, in the hospital. The incident occurred around 8.30 p.m. in the vicinity of the Lasesarre football field in Barakaldo. The victim was shot several times with a shotgun. The perpetrator of the attack fled in a vehicle.
Several police officers, as well as health personnel, attended to the victim. The victim had several gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was then taken to the hospital and died at about eleven o'clock in the evening.
A patrol tracked down the alleged aggressor in Amurrio (Álava) and arrested him. A search inside the vehicle found the weapon used in the attack. The 48-year-old detainee was transferred to police stations, where he is still awaiting testimony before the judge.
