A 36-year-old Basque mountaineer was seriously injured in Asturias when a rock fell as he climbed

The accident occurredjust south of the\ u00A0 Urriellu peak, when a rock broke loose and hit the climber, who reportedly fell about 300 metres above where the mountaineer was, according to the Principality of Asturias Emergency Service (SEPA).
Members of the Asturias Fire Rescue Group have had to carry out a complex rescue operation to remove the woman from the site and take her to the Rio Riellu Valley, where she has been stabilized before being taken to hospital.
The warning of the accident was received at 12.19 p.m. and the intervention of the rescue team was completed around 3.50 p.m.
