The Administrative Court No. 3 of Donostia-San Sebastián has rejected the precautionary suspension requested by HAOSE, thus validating the decreeof the Hondarribia City Council regulating the Alarde.
Mayor Igor Enparan has stated that the ruling confirms that the City Council has acted "correctly". eta asks the Association toaccept the resolution: "It can only be accepted and respected (...) I ask them to comply with the order upheld by the judge and to express their willingness to respect the legitimacy of the City Council".
However, the Mayor appreciates theaction of HAOSE : "We welcome the fact that the case has been brought before the court, as it demonstrates a willingness to abide by and respect the laws and rules."
In turn, Enparan has recalled that the spaces and schedules of the Gernika Tree Squarewill have to be "strictly complied with" and has called for "civility and tolerance " to avoid tensions.
It has also called for the involvement of the Basque institutions and all political forces to ensure thattheAlarde is held "in peace and coexistence" .
