A 30-year-old climber was rescued this Saturday morning by helicopter after falling from a height of 8 metres on the southern side of Mount Untzillaitz in Mañaria (Bizkaia), where the young man was taken to Cruces hospital with injuries, the Department of Safety reported.
After 10:00 this Saturday, Emergency Services warned that a person had fallen while climbing on the southern face of Untzillaitz, where the young man had fallen from a height of 8 metres, causing several injuries.
Members of the Ertzaintza Surveillance and Rescue Unit, the Iurreta Fire Brigade and an ambulance from Osakidetza have moved to the site, but the injured person has had to be evacuated in the Ertzaintza helicopter.
He was taken to the police base in Iurreta, where he was taken by the waiting ambulance to the hospital in Cruces.
