A man held his ex-partner for three days and assaulted her in a house in Vitoria-Gasteiz

The Vitoria-Gasteiz Local Police have arrested a 61-year-old man for holdinghis former partner for three days in a home in the Alavesa capital and for assaulting her during that time.

Early on Thursday afternoon, the man with the restraining order himself called 092 to tell the agents that his ex-partner might be ringing the bell in his apartment in the Lakua neighborhood.

When the officers came, they spoke to the man and a witness. At the same time, another patrol tracked down the woman — a woman they knew before — who was a victim of male violence. 

After hearing all the testimonies, the officers learned that the man had allowed the woman to enter the house and then held her for three days inside the house and "even physically assaulted her", the local police said in a statement.

In response, the officers arrested the manaccused of violating judicial measures and wounding his partner.
