Red alert in Murcia and the Valencian Community for Alice GOIDI

The rains caused by Alice GOIDI keep four communities in the south and east of the peninsula on alert. Murcia and the Valencian Community have issued a red alert for the possibility of accumulating 180 litres in 12 hours, according to Aemet.

In Murcia, a red alert has been issued in Cartagena and Mazarrón for the possibility of accumulating 60 litres in an hour or 180 litres in 12 hours, with orange levels in the Segura Valley and yellow warning in the Guadalentín Valley in Lorca and Aguilas.

The red alert has led to the suspension of classes in 12 municipalities in Murcia, as well as the closure of several roads and roads, and the security forces have recommended avoiding unnecessary travel.

In the Valencian Community, the red warning only affects the province of Alicante, whose coastline is expected to reach 180 litres in 12 hours, while on the northern coast of the province the orange alert is maintained. The Meteorology Agency has specified that the red alert will be in effect in both communities from 10:00 to 23:59.

All Andalusia except the provinces of Huelva and Jaén and the province of Tarragona (Catalonia) have activated the yellow warning for rainfall.
