A Navarre mountaineer dies in Panticosa on Mount Neveras
When he went to the mountain on Saturday and did not return, the family issued a warning and on Sunday afternoon the body was found in a place difficult to access. The deceased is a 27-year-old girl from Tudela who was a teacher in Elizondo.
A 27-year-old girl from Tudela died this weekend in Pico de las Neveras, Panticosa, after falling into a very rugged area.
Civil Guard rescue teams found the body early this afternoon.
It was on Sunday morning that the family warned of his disappearance when he had not returned from a walk he plannedto take on Saturday. The family filed the complaint at a Civil Guard barracks in Navarre, claiming that he was going tothe Aragonese Pyrenees . They knew that had gone to Panticosa with his two dogs, where the search has focused.
Emergency services found the body around 3:10 p.m. on a hillside of the Pico de las Neveras, in a very rugged area, where one of the dogs was dead.
Haize has beenevacuated by helicopter to Panticosa and then transferred to the Huesca Institute of Legal Medicine for autopsy.
Although he was from Tudela, he now lived in Elizondo and worked as a teacher at the Vocational Training Center.
