The alleged perpetrator of the macho murder in Zarautz (Gipuzkoa), arrested on Thursday by the Ertzaintza, has been brought to justice this Sunday.
According to the Basque Government's Department of Security, the Ertzainas have taken the 47-year-old man to the Azpeitia Guard Court around 11 a.m., where he will testify before a judge.
The man was arrested last Thursday on charges of killing a 53-year-old woman. The Ertzaintza found his body after receiving a warning on Wednesday, 15 October, in a house in Zarautz.
The Basque Government's Department of Security stated yesterday that the alleged murderer "has a police record related to gender-based violence"for allegations made by previous couples, but that they are not aware of the allegations made by the deceased woman.
The same source stated on Sunday that they had a "sporadic relationship" and that they "often saw each other in recent times."
