Hernani will not host a Royal Horseback Ride in 2026 for the first time in 25 years
The group of volunteers that until now organized the event with the help of the New Town Merchant Association has decided to "put an end to this stage" because it considers it impossible to continue the tradition "under the current conditions".
In Hernani there will be no Cabalgata de Reyes in 2026, for the first time in 25 years, as reported by the Association of Merchants of the City of Berriak, with the help of which the group of volunteers now engaged in organizing the art event, has decided to "put an end to this stage".
BERRIA states in a statement that "in the last 24 years, the Cabalgata has been made possible by the commitment, illusion and effort of a group of volunteers from Hernani."
This group, with the support of the said association, has made this event a reality "which many citizens eagerly awaited every year, filling the streets with magic on January 5." After more than two decades of work, volunteers have decided to put an end to this stage.
Berriak appreciates "the work done generously and the enormous contribution to the cultural and social life of Hernani. Their efforts have been fundamental so that many children can live with emotion the arrival of the Kings Magi in Hernani."
Finally, the same sources have stated that they are aware of "the importance of this tradition in our municipality", but that "it cannot be continued under current conditions".
