Firefighters are still working on Güeñes

The fire that broke out in the early morning of Friday in Güeñes was declared extinct this afternoon, but the Basque Government's Department of Security has reported that it was resurrected at 10 p.m.

As a result, the firefighters have been working there all night and are continuing their efforts to put out the fire, which is said to have been controlled on one side, but not on the other.

They also asked for the help of a helicopter to cool the area.

There are no houses in the fire area and no injuries were reported, but electricity supply was cut off as a precaution in the Zaramillo and Qaudra neighbourhoods.

Road BI-3651 was also cut off around kilometre 12, but reopened this morning.
