A 48-year-old man died at Cruces Hospital when he fell from a window in the fire that broke out yesterday in a house on El Carmen Street in Barakaldo and which, according to the Department of Safety and Security, fell while trying to escape the fire affecting the house on the third floor.
Three other men, aged 46, 48 and 60, were also injured and transferred to health centres in Barakaldo, one of whom was taken to Cruces Hospital and the other two to San Eloy Hospital.
The fire began at about 5:50 in the morning and was quickly suffocated by firefighters, and the eight residents of the house had to leave the house, but were able to return once the work had been completed.
