With the final list in hand, the San Sebastian City Council Spokespersons Board will meet this Tuesday, which will elect a maximum of 3 candidates, but if a candidate gets a special majority, that is, three-thirds of the weighted representation of the City Council, it will directly appoint the winner of the Golden Drum.
The 2026 Golden Drum winner will leave the list of 56 candidates, including singer Bruce Springsteen , director of the San Sebastian Film Festival José Luis Rebordinos and cook Karlos Arguiñano .
The City of San Sebastián has announced in a statement that it has completed the process of evaluating and validating the final nominations for the 2026 Golden Drum, with a total of 56 nominations.
If a candidate obtains a special majority ofthe Board of Spokespersons, i.e. three-thirds of the weighted representation of the City Council, the Golden Drum may be delivered directly.
In additionto the above, the candidates are Aimar Bretos, Begoña del Teso and journalist Ana Terradillos, Ancora Association, DYA, Basque Culinary Center, Kemen Kirol Elkartea, Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), Dr. Domingo Martin or Donostia Arraun Lagunak .
Also, the mountaineer Edurne Pasaban , the presenter Enma García , the singer Izaro Andrés , the artist Jaime de los Ríos , the director of the Orfeón Donostiarra José Antonio Sainz, the director of the San Sebastián Festival J ose Luis Rebordinos, the director Karlos Arguiñano , the Solidarity Street Dinners and the Flavors Initiatives, the poet Karmelo C.
