Iberia has been the victim of a cyberattack that endangers the personal data of its customers
The name and surname, e-mail, telephone number and Iberia Club card number are the personal data that may have been stolen through this attack.
Iberia has reported to the Data Protection Agency and the INCIBE that a third party, without authorization,has managed to deposit for the management of the company , which has jeopardized the confidentiality of certain personal dataof its customers.
The company says the information in that management system is limited, so flight safety has not been compromised.
Iberia has reported that, according to preliminary investigation, it is possible that it has obtained the details of the Iberia Club card,the name and surname of its customers , email, telephone and ID number.
As indicated by the airline , "no complete or useful data on the means of payment has been obtained or any key to access Iberia's accounts ".
Also, some booking codes for future flightshave been stolen . The airline has stressed that "for the time being, there is no recordof any fraudulent activity with this data ".
Iberia is reporting what happened to affected customers and has implemented additional security measures. En addition to this, any customer is advised to pay special attention to any communication or modification made on behalf of Iberia.
Thus, if any suspicion or anomaly is detected, the phone number +34 900 111 500 has been made available to customers with the aim of communicating these suspicions or anomalies and managing them as quickly as possible.
Iberia has apologized for theattacks, for the problems caused to its customers and has ensured that all balialways are being put in place to "mitigate the consequences of the incident and prevent it from happening again in the future. "
