A man has been arrested in Santurtzi (Bizkaia) after seizing 2,070 counterfeit sports equipment from the Athletic Club. The detainee is charged with crimes against industrial property .
The operation has been carried out by the Civil Guard of Bizkaia after identifying a "suspicious" package received through a courier company, which attracted the attention of the agents due to its "volume, origin and declared characteristics".
The shipment was intercepted last October, and early inspections found that neither the club's distributor nor the authorized manufacturers belonged to the clothing.
