The train service between Bilbao and Santander has been interrupted by the fall of a tree on the tracks
Traffic on the metric gauge line between Bilbao and Santander, old Feve, was cut off this Tuesday in the section between Traslaviña and Carranza after a train without passengers hit a tree that had fallen on the track.
The convoy, which was travelling without passengers, has collided with the tree, forcing traffic to be cut off for safety reasons. There has been no personal damage, as the train did not carry passengers.
The railway company's technicians are working to remove the tree and revise the infrastructure to restore the service as soon as possible. The suspension affects connections between Bizkaia and Cantabriaon one of the main commuter and mid-distance lines.
For the time being, the expected time for resuming circulation during this period has not been specified.
