A Metro Bilbao train has been evacuated from Leioa station aftera mobile phone battery from a user exploded inside a car. The accident occurred around 08:30 in rush hour.
Metro sources have confirmed that the explosion caused smoke in the car, so staff activated the security protocol and removed the convoy after arriving at Leioa station.
The accident has been controlled in a few minutes and the service has not been interruptedsince the rest of the traffic has continued to function normally.
Security personnel inspect the damaged train before removing it from circulation.
