A case of sexual violence and harassment of a minor has been reported at the Padura Club in Arrigorriaga
Bidaure (Association for the Protection of Children Victims of Gender Violence) and Urruma (Arrigorriaga Feminist Group) have publicly denounced a case of sexual violence and harassment against a minor player in the Padura area.
According to reports from the associations, the harassment occurred repeatedly while the victim was attending training. According to information related to the case, this situation would have worsened if a video with sexual content related to the situation had been broadcast.
The Padura Sports Club recently announced the creation of new groups of women and the elaboration of an equality protocol after detecting conduct contrary to their values. The reporting associations, however, believe that the response of the Padura officials has not been sufficient. They criticise the fact that, aware of the gravity of the facts, they have not maintained a clear position in favour of the minor and have not activated all the necessary protective measures.
For all these reasons, Bidau and Urruma call on the C.P. Padura to grant a direct public apology to the victim, the immediate application of disciplinary measures to the aggressors and the urgent establishment of real mechanisms for prevention and action. The groups stress that the eradication of male violence and the protection of children cannot be merely image campaigns, but an ethical and legal responsibility that must be addressed in a coherent manner within the organization.
