12 containers have been burned on several streets in Getxo
They set fire to the containers on five streets in the Las Arenas neighborhood, where there's a lot of material damage. Getxo City Police are trying to identify a suspect.
Severalstreets in Getxo (Bizkaia) burned 12 containers last night, causing extensive material damage, according to the Getxo City Council.
In particular, containers have been burned on the streets Andrés Larrazabal, Club, El Pinar, Amaia and Zugazarte Avenue, all inthe Las Arenas neighbourhood. Apparently, the alleged perpetrator has started burning containers on El Pinar Street and has completed his tour on Amaia Street.
Getxo City Council has reported that the containers have an alarm system that has made it possible to reconstruct the fire sequence and establish a possible course of events, so the Getxo Municipal Police are already working to identify a suspect.
The firefighters of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia have quickly put out the fires and, with the help of the local police, have prevented any injuries. Unfortunately, the material damage is significant in some cases.
The City Council asks the citizens for help if they have any information that could help to clarify what happened. The Mayor has "strongly" condemned what happened and has advanced that the City Council will put all means in place to "identify the perpetrator and prevent such situations from recurring."
