A 17-year-old has been reported by Foral Police for escaping a police checkpoint in Beriain, and the young man, in addition to not having a driver's license, had no insurance or ITV.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, when the Citizen Prevention and Care patrols, in coordination with the Road Safety Units, set up a checkpoint after learning of ahigh-speed vehicle in the town of Beriain.
After stopping at the police checkpoint, the driver accelerated and fled.
During the flight, he carried out a number of manoeuvres that endangered road safety, including taking theTiebas roundabout in theopposite direction, on the N-121 road, according to Foral Police.
Finally, they managed to stop the vehicle, and the officers found that the driver was under the age of 17.
The young man stole the car keys from his mother to drive the vehicle. In addition, the carhad no mandatory insuranceand the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) had expired.
The minor was charged with driving without a proper administrative licence for vehicles, reckless driving, disobedience to traffic agents and administrative irregularities in the vehicle.
