Two men have been arrested in Toulouse on charges of irregular human trafficking
The arrest took place in the early morning hours of Saturday by the Ertzaintza. A patrol intercepted a vehicle and found that six people were travelling inside, one in the trunk. It was subsequently ascertained that the passengers had paid money for their transfer to Irun and Paris.
The Ertzaintza arrested two men in the early morning hours of Saturday in Tolosa (Gipuzkoa) on charges of an alleged offence of irregular human trafficking, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security in a statement.
The events took place around 03:30 on Saturday, when a plainclothes Ertzaina spotted a vehicle driving incorrectly and alerted the patrols in the area.
The vehicle was intercepted by the officers in the Ollarain neighbourhood of Toulouse, where six persons were travelling, one of them in the trunk, all of whom were transferred to police stations for proper processing and identification.
Then it was found that the five passengers had paid money to goto Irun and Paris .
The driver of the 28-year-old vehicle and the 27-year-old man travelling in the trunk were arrested on charges of irregular traffic and illegal immigration , both of whom are in police custody pending trial.
