As previously done by the National Assembly, the Senate has now also closed the way for the creation of a low-flow zone off the coast of Lapurdi.
The plan to create a low-flow zone in Lapurdi has been suspended, as has the National Assembly, which has also been rejected by the French Senate, which in practice means that no labels or badges are required to travel to the North Coast.
The measure proposed by the French Government was tabled by the far-right, arguing that the purchase of a new car is not within anyone's reach and implied a difference between poor and rich citizens, and that this was a violation of the constitutional right to equality.
On that basis, as in the National Assembly, last night, in the Senate, it was decided to suspend the measure.
The measure will therefore not enter into force, and, as before, it will be possible to drive in the car without special badges.
