Sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old student in Pamplona
The defendant shall no longer be able to speak to or approach the victim and shall remain on probation for a period of five years, once he has served the prison sentence, and shall not be able to perform the duties of minors, whether paid or not, for 10 years.
The Navarra Court has sentenced a teacher at a school in Pamplona to four years and one day in prison for touchinga 10-year-old student.
The defendant, 49 , can now appeal to the Navarre High Court of Justice.
According to the sentence, the teacher will no longer be able to talk to or approach the minor, who must keep a distance of 300 metres for six years and will be on probation for another five years, once he has served his prison sentence.
Nor shall he be able to meet the needs of minors, whether or not they have paid work, for a period of 10 years.
The attack took place on March 18 , 2024 at the school itself, around 10:45.
On the other hand, the trial was held on 31 October 2025, at which time the Public Prosecutor's Office requested five years' imprisonment for a crime of sexual assault on a minor under 16 years of age, while the private prosecution requested nine years' imprisonment.
The Court of Navarre has pointed out that, as is often the case in this type of crime, the testimony of the victim has been key to the prosecution of the assault.
