A man tried to strangle his wife in San Sebastian
The Ertzaintza arrested a 26-year-old man in Donostia-San Sebastián on Friday morning on charges of attempted murder in the context of gender-based violence, after assaulting his partner.
The event occurred around 03:10 in a house in the capital of Guipuzcoana, when a telephone call alerted the police that a man was assaulting a woman inside a house.
According to the Ertzaintza, when the patrols arrived there, they found the alleged aggressor on the victim's subject, who was drowning at the time, and the officers intervened immediately, stopped the attack and managed to rescue the semi-unconscious woman.
The man has been immediately arrested and taken to the police station for appropriate proceedings.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, had to be treated in a health facility after the incident, after which she received medical discharge.
