The man who tried to strangle his wife in San Sebastian is still at the police station
The 26-year-old man arrested on Friday in San Sebastian on charges of attempted murder for attempting to strangle his wife is still in police custody this morning, awaiting trial, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
The events took place at 03:10 yesterday in a house in the capital of Guipuzcoana, where the Ertzaintza received a call warning that a woman was being assaulted in a house.
When the officers arrived at the house, the assailant was in a room in the house, on top of the victim, trying to suffocate him. The officers managed to stop the attack and restore the unconscious woman.
The 26-year-old man was arrested on charges of attempted murder in the area of gender-based violence and taken to the police station to carry out the necessary procedures. The 24-year-old victim had to be transferred to a medical facility and subsequently discharged.
