The incident has forced the residents of the affected building to be evicted and municipal technicians are assessing the damage on Iparragirre Street.
Two people were injured this morning in a gas explosion at a hotel in Leioa (Bizkaia), the Department of Safety reported.
The incident occurred at 7:05 a.m. in an establishment on Iparraguirre Street, where the cook of thepremises suffered burns to the head and arm, and the injured person, who was outside the premises, had to be taken to hospital.
Both have been taken to Cruces Hospital inBarakaldo.
The explosion caused damage to several vehicles parked on and around the facade of the building.
In addition, the residents of the building have been evicted as a precaution, and Leioa City Council technicians are working on damage assessment and building security.
