A 44-year-old woman died early this Saturday morning in Mairena del Aljaraf, Seville, from stab wounds allegedly inflicted by her partner.

The Civil Guard arrived at the house alerted by the couple's neighbours, who heard screams, and when they entered the house they found the woman dead and the man wounded.
"We are in the initial phase of the investigation, but the Civil Guard is working on the main hypothesis of an alleged murder by gender-based violence," said Francisco Toscano, deputy delegate of the Spanish Government in Seville.
According to research sources, there were no reports of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor and the couple had at least one minor child.
If death were confirmed as male violence, this woman would become the sixth victim of gender-based violence in Andalusia and the twenty-fifth in Spain this year.
