Health professionals Clint Jean Louis Fernandez and Araceli Sergio will launch the San Fermín blow shot

It has been decided who will light the rocket that will start the San Fermín 2026 festivities: Clint Jean Louis Fernandez , director of the Navarra Emergency Branch, and Araceli Sergio , nurse of the Tafalla Mobile UVI team, will have the honor of launching the blow shot.

Two weeks ago, it became known that citizens had chosen the Navarre Emergency Subdirectorate to launch the blow shot, and the names and surnames of the two people who will be climbing onto the balcony of Pamplona City Council today have been reported. 

Fernandez has been appointed as an institutional representative , family doctor and emergency specialist, born in Kenya, has lived in Pamplona since 1992 and has been in charge of the Emergency Branch for three years.

Sergio, for his part, is a nurse at the UCI Mobile in Tafalla who was elected by his colleagues in the vote to launch the blow shot. 

Recognition of work

Fernandez has acknowledged that he has been deeply moved to know that he will be one of the pitchers, which he has described as "a great honor", and wants it to be a recognition "to the entire team".

Not just the Sanfermines, but it highlights the work that ER professionals do all year round.
