A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson in a pavilion in Lasarte-Oria
The Ertzaintza, in collaboration with the Lasarte-Oria Local Police, has arrested a 29-year-old man accused of arson in a building in which several citizens sleep and, although they were all outside when the fire began, one of them suffered minor burns to his hand and foot.
The fire broke out at around 10 p.m. this Thursday and, on the basis of the first investigations, a person present at the scene was identified and arrested on charges of damage, on suspicion of arson, a 29-year-old male of Maghreb origin who has been transferred to the Hernani police station for police proceedings.
On the other hand, the Red Cross has taken care of the 12 people who were there and provided them with water and food, as well as transferring the 24-year-old man, who has mild burns on one hand and one foot, to the local outpatient.
The fire has been extinguished and the Ertzaintza continues to investigate to clarify what happened.
