The former head of Osakidetza Security who forged a title to get the job has been sentenced to six months in prison and a fine
The convicted person shall not be placed in prison by sentence unless he or she commits a new offence for two years.
A court in Vitoria-Gasteiz has sentenced the former head of Osakidetza Security to six months' imprisonment and a fine of 1,080 euros for presenting "consciously and voluntarily" a false university degree to obtain office.
In December 2025, Osakidetza dismissed the Head of Security after verifying that the university degree required for the post was not included in the file and did not accept it.
The case ended in court, and now No. 1 of the Examining Section of the Court of Instance in Vitoria-Gasteiz has handed down a judgement of conformity, meaning that the accused has admitted the facts in exchange for a small conviction.
The convicted person shall not be placed in prisonbecause the sentence, which is final, interrupts the execution of the prison sentence for a period of two years, provided that he does not re-offend during that period.
