Two monitors from the Mouriscot Recreation Centre in Biarritz were arrested this Tuesday morning on charges of child rape and sexual assault . The victims are children aged three and four.
Although the news was released on Tuesday, the investigation was launched last Friday, July 17, following testimony from one of the children, who is being investigated by the Bayonne Public Prosecutor's Office and Prosecutor Jeanne François has informed the media that investigators have found a case of rape and 12 signs of sexual assault that must be confirmed with medical evidence.
Depending on the age of the children, they are being discussed with them on the basis of a protocol of the Paediatric Child Care Unit (UAPED) of the Baiona Hospital, in the presence of a psychologist, a specialist investigator and a forensic doctor.
The detainees are cheerleaders aged 21 and 36 , one of whom had been working at the Mouriscot residence for two years and the other had started this year. According to the investigators, it is still too early to know whether they were in agreement. In principle, they will be detained until Wednesday to give a statement, although the period of pre-trial detention could be extended to 48 hours.
The Biarritz City Councilhas dismissed them from their duties and announced their intention to participate as a civil party in the case, as well as launching a family care support service .
