San Sebastian City Council bans street supportive dinners
Street Solidarity Dinners in San Sebastian have denounced that more than 300 people will be left without an alternative to dinner.

The City of San Sebastián will ban the distribution of dinners in the "public spaces of the city" from today. The City Council has notified the collective of Solidarity Street Dinners last night and the members who distribute meals to the homeless will request a meeting of the mayor of San Sebastián, Jon Insausti, this morning.
The decision follows the technical reports of three municipal departments: the Public Service Use Unit, the Department of Public Health and the Local Police.
The solidarity dinner began in 2019 at the initiative of a group of neighbours of the Old Part of San Sebastián. The project was subsequently extended to Egia. Precisely because of security concerns, Egia dinners were banned by the City Council two years ago. Since then they have been distributing meals in the Constitution Square, Gipuzkoa Square and Anoeta.
