A man has been arrested in Vitoria-Gasteiz on charges of attempting to rob and kill another young man
The Ertzaintza arrested a 27-year-old in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday on charges of attempted murder. The victim, a 21-year-old boy , had cuts in his arms as he tried to protect himself from the blows of the alleged aggressor. Before committing the attack, the detainee and another person tried to force the van with the intention of stealing inside. The victim was inside and resisted.
According to the Department of Safety and Security, the events took place around 7.45 p.m. in the San Cristobal district of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the vicinity of the universities.
Two individuals were forcing several vehicles with the intention of stealing and trying to open the back of a van, inside which was the 21-year-old who, seeing the thieves trying to get into his van, pulled them out ofthe vehicle and reproached them for what they were doing.
First fight
The victim managed to track down and capture one of the alleged robbers and had a first physical fight in the street, in which the alleged thief continued to threaten and the 21-year-old entered a nearby bar, followed by the alleged aggressor.
Inside the bar, the alleged thief grabbed a glass from the bar and broke it to attack the 21-year-old, who tried to defend himself and cut himself in his arms, apparently also trying to attack him aroundhis neck, causing a cut in an ear.
In the middle of the fight, the victim and the alleged aggressor fell to the ground, at which point Ertzaintza patrols arrived at the bar and separated the two men.

The officers tried to stop the bleeding of one arm of the assailant and requested an ambulance, and after first receiving medical attention, the 21-year-old wounded man was taken to Txagorritxu hospital.
The officers arrested the alleged aggressor, aged 27, who remains in police custody until the completion of the proceedings and is brought before the court.
