Vitoria's tram won't run downtown until September
The felling is due to the urbanization of the streets General Alaba and Independencia, which will include homogeneous pavement, partial renovation of roads and various repairs.
Due to the urbanization of General Alaba and Independence Streets in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the tram service between Angulema and Parliament stationshas been suspended from this Monday until 6 September.
This action will consist of the installation of a homogeneous pavement throughout the area, the renovation of a section of the two railway lines at the confluence of the streets Independencia, General Álava and Fueros, and the repair of about twenty archets.
The refurbishment work has begun on 10 August and will continue for almost a month, although Euskotren has indicated that traffic could be restored earlier if work progresses at a good pace.
Once the service is restored, work will be done on the sidewalks on both sides of the tram platform and will continue until the end of the year.
ETS reports that the service on the other lines will run normally, with Angulema and Parliament being the final stops, while the organisation ensures that it will try to minimise inconvenience to neighbours and shops in the area.
