11 people have been poisoned by inhalation of chlorine gas in the Viana sports complex
Two of those affected are children aged 5 and 9 with reserved prognosis.
A chlorine gas cloud has intoxicated 11 people - threeof them children - in the Viana Municipal Sports Complex. Emergency services have reported that six of those affected have been transferred to hospitals, while the other five have been treated at the site and discharged.
Specifically, two children with reserved prognosis, a child with mild prognosis and an adult with mild prognosis have been taken to San Pedro de Logroño Hospital. One adult with mild prognosis has been taken to Calahorra Hospital and another adult with mild prognosis to García Orcoyen Hospital in Estella.
The incident was reported at 5.41 p.m.and the Lodosa fire brigade, an advanced life support ambulance, 4 basic life support ambulances, the Viana medical team, the Los Arcos medical team, the Foral Police, the Civil Guard (responsible for the proceedings), the Civil Protection technicians, the Logroño fire brigade and an advanced life support ambulance from SOS Rioja.
