He has worked intensively as an investigator and participated in the Commission for Victims of Police Abuse and Human Rights Violations appointed by the Basque Parliament since 2013.
Joxemi was arrested and imprisoned as a member of the board of the Zumalabe Foundation in 2000 in the 18/98 case. He spent eight months in prison and then in 2007 he was sentenced to nine years in prison, but in 2009 he was acquitted by the Supreme Court.
Ormazabal has compiled in countless books and articles his extensive research and reflection, in addition to leaving an important legacy for the historical memory of Euskal Herria, providing citizens, the civil movement and political practice with solid foundations from the point of view of human rights and non-violent humanity.
