The circus was set up on the 16th of August without permission from the City Hall, and will offer shows every afternoon until this Saturday.
The neighbours of Urruña are annoyed at the installation in the village of a circus dedicated to the use of wild animals in entertainment, which arrived in the town on the 16th of August and rented a private plot of land to a nearby farmer, without seeking permission from the City Council.
In France, the use of wild animals in circus shows has not yet been banned — the ban will enter into force in 2029 — but residents are angry at the use of these animals in the show.
The way in which the circus billboards have been placed has also caused unease among the public, who have been accused of placing numerous posters inappropriately and outside the designated areas .
Despite the controversy that has arisen in the village and on social media, the circus will offer daily shows until this Saturday.
