Agents of the Ertzaintza arrested two men and a woman on Thursday afternoon on charges of illegal detention and extortion of a citizen who was demanding an amount of money from the victim.

About six and a half o'clock on Thursday afternoon, two people came to the police station in Deba Urola to report the possible presence of a person held against their will in a building in the Old Town of Bergara.
The patrol displaced to the site managed to gain access to the home and located four people, three men and one woman, one of whom, the victim, had blood on his head and was stunned andhad to be taken to Arrasate Hospital.
The victim reported that she had been held since the previous day, that the alleged perpetrators had found her in the street and had ordered her to accompany her to their home to pay off a debt, where they had taken away her house keys and documents, as well as her own and her mother's. They had assaulted her by claiming the alleged debt. They had also taken her male to the residence where the victim's mother was, so that she could then take money from the bank, without success.
The alleged perpetrators are a 37-year-old woman and two men aged 30 and 31, all of whom have criminal recordsand are awaiting trial.
