According to data from the Ministry of Equality, 21 sexual assaults have been recorded in Ceuta

Equality Minister Ana Redondohas said there have been 21 sexual assaults in Ceuta since the beginning of the migration crisis.

During his appearance before the Congressional Equality Committee to report on his ministry's activities following the migration crisis in Ceuta, Redondo stated that of the five alleged aggressors, two are Maghreb, two Spanish and one European.

"These are serious incidents that require a firm response, protection for victims and smooth action by the judiciary, both for migrant women in Ceuta and for all women and girls throughout Spain," the minister stressed.

However, the Public Prosecutor's Office has counted 23 sexual assaults in Ceuta, of which nine victims are minors between the ages of 14 and 17.

Fiscal sources have told EFE that, so far, the State security forces have identified eight suspected attackers, four of whom are Moroccans, three Spaniards and one Belgian, while the remaining attackers remain unidentified.

On the other hand, Redondo has specified that the 24-hour Crisis Centre for victims of sexual violence or trafficking, run by the government of the autonomous city, is currently hosting nine minors who are victims of sexual assault.
