Rigour, proximity and commitment to quality information, the axes of the new ETB news season
In this new season that is about to begin, ETB's news services will maintain their commitment to Basque society and quality information, with the most complete approach, all the keys, the explanation of why and the solutions also on the table.
Based on quality, truthfulness, rigour and closeness, this Monday, September 7, will launch the new ETB news season, with a solid offer that is a benchmark in information and an absolute audience leader. In fact, 2,584,000 viewers have connected with ETB news in the 2025/2026 season, reaching an average share of 25.6%.
Particularly significant are the data for August. The informative "Gaur Egun" has reached its highest monthly quota since August 2007, with a 5% screen quota (12.4% among Euskaldunes). It is the highest monthly quota in almost two decades. "Teleberri"has also ended August with 23 %data, the highest figure since January 2021.
In this new season that is about to begin, the ETB news stations will maintain their commitment to Basque society and quality information, putting on the table the most comprehensive approach, all the keys, the explanation of why and the solutions. This will be a course marked by the election calls: the general elections; the municipal and foral elections in the ACV; and the municipal and parliamentary elections in Navarre.ETB has all the resources necessary to bring to our attention our immediate current affairs and everything that happens in the world, always with a large team of professionals in the newsroom and a whole network of correspondents and, of course, the reference news ofall: "Egun On", "Gaur Egun" and "Teleberri".
Starting on Monday, Nerea Reparazwill present "Gaur Egun" (14:00) at noon, and Xabier Usabiagawill present the second edition (20:00), while Lierni Agirrezabala will continue on weekends at ETB1. At ETB2 , Africa Baeta(14:00) and Dani Alvarez (21:00) will continue to lead the news "Teleberri", from Monday to Friday; and Saioa Martija (14:00).
Asier Oteguiand Irati Errandoneawill present, every morning, the informative "Egun On" of ETB1, starting on September 14. As usual, the news of the day will be brought forward and will focus on the breaking news, but the new season will also bring some news , including a new section every day, to pause on economic, health, sports or cultural issues.
