Three minors have been identified for throwing bottles at the Ertzaintza during the Plentzia festivities
Young people aged 16 and 17 attacked two patrols in the early morning hours of 29 August, amid insults and cries.
Three children under the age of 16 and 17 have been identified by the Ertzaintza for throwing bottles at two patrols during the festivities in Plentzia (Bizkaia), which took place in the early morning hours of 29 August, when officers were carrying out preventive work in the municipality.
The Basque Government's Department of Safety reported on Friday that in the first incident, a uniformed patrol was thrown two bottles as it passed through the gateway to a public elevator in the municipality.
Two patrols were attacked.
According to the Ertzaintza, several young men threw bottles at the officers while insulting them, and the officers were unable to identify the perpetrators, as the young men hid in the crowd.
Shortly afterwards, two more bottles were thrown at another patrol, this time made up of plainclothes officers, who were insulted and threatened by a group of young men who had to take refuge inside the vehicle to escape the attack.
Under investigation, the Ertzaintza has identified three minors, one aged 16 and two aged 17, who must appear before the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office when called.
