An investigation is under way into the forest fire in Carcastillo
The flames started yesterday in the Corral Nuevo area and stabilized this afternoon. There was no agricultural work in the area, so Police Foral suspects it was intentional.

The Foral Police are investigating whether the forest fire that broke out yesterday at the Corral Nuevo site in Carcastillo (Navarre) wasintentional , police sources have confirmed.
According to the Foral Police, the investigation is in its infancy and it remains to be determined what caused it, "but apparently it did not originate spontaneously." The officers have detected a number of suspicious indications , including that there was no agricultural work in the area.
"Looks like it might be intentional, but we're investigating," they said.
Fire fighters from the four parks in Navarre (Peralta, Cordovilla, Estella and Tafalla) were involved in the extinction work. Yesterday, in addition to ground resources, air assets were provided to assist: two helicopters from the Government of Navarre and two helicopters from Miteco, based in Miluz.
